WEAVING CLASSES

Mobius Saori Cowl

This fun weaving class will cover some new
techniques that will take your plain weave to the next level. 

  • Two-session Class: TBD
  • Instructor: Alisa Schenck of Hemlock Hollow Fiber Arts
  • Skill Level: beginner
  • Workshop Fee: $85
  • Students will come to class with a warped loom. Instructions and supply list will be given after registration.​

Using the philosophy of Saori weaving students will be introduced to freestyle weaving using many different fibers.
Our first session will cover getting set up for the mobius cowl and weaving instructions. Our second class will go over the weaving technique that creates the continuous cowl and finishing steps. Get ready to play with lots of texture and let your imaginations run! This is a great project for using up odds and ends of yarn, locks and fiber -- anything goes!

Introduction to Rigid Heddle Weaving

Learn about the rigid heddle loom and the dynamics of weaving,
plan a project, warp the loom, and practice weaving and finishing techniques.

  • One-day Intensive: November 9 10am-5pm
  • Instructor: Alisa Schenck of Hemlock Hollow Fiber Arts
  • Skill Level: beginner
  • Workshop Fee: $325
  • includes Ashford 16" rigid heddle loom, project yarn, and class instruction
    • $150 if you supply your own rigid heddle loom in good working order​

Have you been wanting to learn the art of rigid heddle weaving? Join us and explore how a rigid heddle loom works, how to plan for a project, the ins and outs of warping and also weaving and finishing a project.

This will be an all day workshop from 10am to 5pm. We will be designing and making a placemat with cotton yarns.

Class size is limited so sign up early to hold your place.
